Seminars on various tech topics take place in a classroom setting and are typically attended by anywhere from six to thirty people depending on the topics presented. Seminar topics are generally relatively basic, covering subjects such as getting organized on your computer; getting the most out of your operating system (lately Windows 10); downloading, organizing and editing your photographs; using the features of your smartphone or tablet; using Facebook and other social media; the basics of word processing and spreadsheets, etc.
Every Wednesday, 3:30 -5:30 p.m. | January – March
This is a U.S. foreign policy discussion group.
The topics are picked by the Foreign Policy Association, who also prepare a workbook with essays on the topic and a video further exploring each subject. Meetings are led by a volunteer who elaborates on the topic, shows the video and then we break up into small groups to process questions and conclude with a “report back” to the whole group.
Workbooks for these sessions are available in January at the front desk of the Senior Center for $26.00. They are useful, but not required.

Scam Alert
Scams are recently on the rise. According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), anyone who demands payments by gift card is always a scammer. Gift cards should never be used as payments to someone asking for money. Here is an FTC web link with more information on gift card scams.
Another fraud scheme that’s on the rise is the “imposter” scam. For more information on various imposter scams, please once again visit this web link on the FTC website.
Zoom Webinar
Zoom is a free video conferencing app that allows you to set up a virtual get-together where you can visit with your friends & family. If you were unable to attend or would like to watch portions again, here are links to the accompanying slide deck and a useful article. The webinar follows below.
