Cathy Sapp

Board Member, Term ends June 30, 2024

Cathy was Contract Administrator with Oil and Gas firms for 40 years. Managing large trading floors for the daily purchase and sale of hydrocarbons.

Assuring compliance with all FERC rules and regulations. Expert witness when needed as an alternative to resolve disputes regarding oil and gas interest ownership.

Volunteerism with multiple organizations within Summit County such as Summit County Animal Shelter, Summit Foundation, Lake Dillon Theater, Keystone Neighborhood Company, Summit Senior Center as coordinator of the annual Senior Winter Games, HCA Lead, Keystone’s 50 Plus Ski with Us, Toastmasters with over 1500 hours during 2019.

Chuck Drake

Board Member, Term ends June 30, 2024

Chuck and his family have been coming to Summit County for over 25 years, and three years ago purchased property in Frisco and live here full time. Chuck worked as a science and computer science teacher, administrator and coach in Prince William County Public Schools located in Northern Virginia for 38 years. The last 10 years of his career he and his wife Sharon built a statewide program where students in grades 5-14 built over 15,000 computers for families and donated them for free. He and Sharon enjoy skiing, biking, hiking and motorcycles.

Joan Tilden

Board Member, Term ends June 30, 2024

Joan is a transplanted Canadian who arrived in Denver in 1981.  She has owned a home in Summit County since 1984 and moved to Silverthorne full time in 2015.  Her professional background is in the energy industry as a petroleum engineer and geologist. She currently runs her own consulting business specializing in 3D geomodeling of oil and gas reservoirs.  Joan has been an active member of the Summit County Rotary Club since 2016 and serves on their Board as secretary.  She also serves on the Boards of SCSC Timberline Toppers Square Dance club and the annual 50+ Winter Games. 

When Joan is not working, she enjoys participating in all outdoor activities in including hiking, biking, downhill skiing and skate skiing.  Now that she lives in Summit County full time her focus is to give back to the community she loves through volunteerism.

Philip Mervis

Vice President, Term ends June 30, 2022

Having lived here locally for more than 20 years, Philip works in a full-time capacity as a Summit County realtor.  Philip has volunteered in a variety of capacities, usually focusing on assisting nonprofits with their technology needs.  In that regard, he has served as co-director of the Evo3 Foundation and otherwise helped a number of nonprofits with their online presence, including Adopt an Angel, Advocates for Victims of Assault and Education Foundation of the Summit.  Philip first became involved with the Senior Center in 2018 as a volunteer, assisting members with their individual computer/device issues and facilitating tech seminars.

Norb Chehak

Treasurer, Term ends June 30, 2022

Marty is originally from Littleton but has owned property in Frisco for more than 20 years. Her career primarily focused in telecommunications and healthcare consulting, although she and her husband had most recently owned a security company. She has held board positions with the Lupus Foundation of Colorado, CU EMBA Association and the SkiMeister organization. Her work with Summit Seniors includes projects at the Community Care Clinic and volunteering for the Winter Games and Holiday Home Tour.

Gini Bartley

Secretary, Term ends June 30, 2023

Originally from California, Gini pursued an early career in Human Resources. Subsequent to post graduate study, and a career change, she thoroughly enjoyed teaching science and visual arts until her retirement. Gini has been a full time resident of Summit County for the past five

Participation as a volunteer in Summit has been both enriching and rewarding, most recently involving many days working the Health Department Vaccine Clinics at the Bus Barn in Frisco.  Gini and her Therapy Dog, Zoey, are active members of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs as well as Reading Assistance Dogs. She volunteers at the Summit County Animal Shelter with The Humane Education Program in Summit County Schools (pre-COVID) and developed Furry Friends in partnership with Summit Seniors and Volunteer Coordinator at the Animal Shelter.  Other volunteer activities include programs at the Summit County Library, BreckCreate, F.I.R.C, Bravo Music Festival, and Summit Seniors.

Marc Schlesinger

Past President, Term ends June 30, 2022

Marc and his family have vacationed in Summit County for more than 30 years, and owned property in Silverthorne for 20. Originally from Chicago area, Marc and his wife Joelle moved to the county permanently in 2008. Marc was active in numerous medical staff positions, including Chief of Staff, and has served on boards for Illinois County and State Medical Societies, the Illinois delegation to the AMA, the non-profit board for a retirement community, and others. After a 29-year career as a general internist and hospitalist in Illinois, Marc spent his last 10 working years as a hospitalist at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center. He and Joelle enjoy skiing, cycling and golfing in Summit County as well as traveling.

Mickie Parsons

President, Term ends June 30, 2023

Mickie’s formative years were in upstate New York where she pursued a career in perioperative nursing.   Following a detour to Somalia with the peace Corps she moved with family to Colorado in 1969.  A Summit County condo became a play ground for family and friends and led to a permanent home in 2003.  Mickie’s career has included many leadership opportunities culminating in a role as a nationwide consultant.   She serves as a volunteer at multiple schools and is the community representative on the District Accountability Committee. She has become an active member at the Senior Center in a volunteer capacity and member of several committees. This has motivated her interest in participating at a higher level as a member of the Board.
