50+ Winter Games

The 50+ Winter Games is an annual fundraiser for the Summit Senior Center. The 40th 50+ Winter games was held February 9, 10, & 11, 2020 and over $13,000 was raised to support Summit Seniors and our support of Summit County senior citizens through our grants. Learn more about the 50+ Winter Games, sponsorship, and see results and photos for 2020. The 2021 50+ Winter Games will be held on February 8, 9 & 10, 2021. Because of the pandemic, we expect to have changes to the agenda and events for the 2021 50+ Winter Games, but the full extent is not known yet.  To volunteer for the 50+ Winter Games, contact Cathy Sapp at rockymtncmc@gmail.com.

Originally affiliated with the Over the Hill Gang International (which today exists in Copper), the Loosey Goosey Group (LGG) has been loosely organizing the 50-plus population committed to celebrating and sharing the joys of living and playing during the snow season in Summit County for more than 30 years. Please note, additional costs may apply for Après ski activities.

Starting the first Thursday in December, the group holds weekly Après ski parties at the Summit County Community and Senior Center, culminating in the Arapahoe Basin Beach Party the first Monday in April. Attendees and group members are asked to bring a dish to share.

The annual Arapahoe Basin Beach Party will be on Monday, April 6, starting at 11:30 a.m. with the option to ski before and/or after. If you wish to attend, please bring a side dish, salad or dessert item to share; the main course of barbecue will be catered by A-Basin. Water, wine and beer will be provided. Weather permitting, the party will be held outside on “The Beach” so please ensure all food items, dishes, serving utensils, chairs and personal belongings are heavy enough to avoid blowing away.

In the case of bad weather, we will host the party inside the A-frame on the 2nd floor; however, due to Colorado liquor laws, the Loosey Goosey Group will not be able to provide wine and beer inside the A-frame. If desired, group members can purchase drinks at the 6th Alley Bar.

Our annual Awards Party will be held on [TBD] and winners of the Most Improved Skier/Boarder and the Nancy Macey Spirit award winners will be posted on our group blog and Facebook page.

Newsletter updates resume October with information about the upcoming ski season.
