Our very first Life Science discussion with speakers Dr. Debbie Johnson, PhD President & CEO of Keystone Symposia, and Dr. David Woodland, Immunologist and former Keystone Symposia Chief Scientific Officer. High Altitude Gardening with Alyse Piburn

The thought of gardening in our unique environment can seem taxing for everyone, from the seasoned professional to the dabbler with the brown thumb. Battling a short growing season, cold temperatures, dry rocky soil, and wildlife are just the beginning. Despite the challenges, starting a mountain garden can be achieved at any level or size, providing many benefits to your physical and mental health.

Alyse Piburn of Mountain Roots will discuss the Basics of High-Altitude Gardening, including using raised beds and containers, soil choices, plant selection, maintenance plans and more! Please bring specific questions as we plan to have gardeners of every ability and experience joining.

What's New at the Library with Barb Parry

During this session, you will find out about the wide variety of online offerings on the Summit County website for all ages. You will learn how to get a library card online. Then the wide range of children's programming, online databases, newspapers, and learning platforms will be available to you for free. You will also learn how to check out online books and magazines and stream movies. This session is presented by Barb Parry, an avid reader and supporter of the library. She has served on the Library Board and Library Foundation for six years.
